Privacy Policy

A clear explanation of the data we use to run Maratha Manch, the choices you have, and how to exercise your privacy rights.

This Privacy Policy explains how Maratha Manch (we, us, or our) handles personal data when you visit our website or use our matrimonial services. It should be read with our Terms of Service, Cookie Policy, and Consent Notice.

Information we collect

We collect information needed to create and protect your account, provide matchmaking features, and operate the service. This can include:

  • account and identity information, such as your name, date of birth, mobile number, email address, and login details;
  • profile, preference, community, location, family, lifestyle, and horoscope information that you choose to provide;
  • photos, video biodata, and verification information you submit;
  • records of membership, payment status, transaction references, support requests, reports, and your interactions with the service; and
  • technical and usage information, such as device, browser, log, and activity data used to secure and improve the platform.

We do not require you to provide optional profile details, but leaving them out may limit relevant matches or features.

How we use your information

We use personal data to create and administer accounts, present profiles and match recommendations, enable member interactions, process memberships, provide support, verify profiles, prevent fraud and abuse, protect our members, meet legal obligations, and improve the service. We also use your choices to manage optional marketing, analytics, personalised recommendations, notification, and profile-visibility processing.

Some processing is necessary to provide the service you request, such as account administration, profile display, security, payments, and responding to support requests. For optional processing, we request and record your consent. At registration, we record the date, time, and version of the Terms and Privacy Policy you accept. You can grant or withdraw optional consents from Settings > Privacy; withdrawal applies going forward and does not affect processing already completed or processing we must continue by law.

Who can see your information

Other members can see the parts of your profile that you make available through the service and its visibility controls. We disclose personal data to trusted service providers only when they need it to operate services for us, such as payment processing, storage, security, communications, or support. We may also disclose information where required to comply with law, protect people or our rights, investigate suspected fraud or abuse, or as part of a lawful business reorganisation. We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices and rights

You can review and update profile information, manage profile visibility, and change optional consent preferences from your account. You can also request a machine-readable export of your personal data or request account deletion from Settings. When you request deletion, we hide your profile immediately and permanently remove personal data within 30 days, except for information we need to retain for legal, financial, fraud-prevention, or regulatory reasons. You may have additional rights under applicable privacy law; use our Contact or Grievance Redressal page to make a request.

Data retention

We keep data for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. We then delete or de-identify it using reasonable measures. Retention periods can differ depending on the type of data and why it was collected.

Security

We use technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including encryption for sensitive fields such as mobile numbers and verification data, access controls, and monitoring. No internet service or storage system can be completely secure, so please protect your account credentials and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorised access.

International processing

Our service providers may process data in locations other than your own. When this happens, we take steps appropriate to the processing and applicable law to protect your information.

Children

Maratha Manch is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, practices, or legal obligations change. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the date above. Where required or appropriate, we will provide additional notice before material changes take effect.

Contact and complaints

For questions, requests, or concerns about this policy or your data, please use the Contact page. You can raise a formal complaint through the Grievance Redressal page. We will handle requests in line with applicable law and our published grievance process.
