Child Safety Standards

Maratha Manch is a matrimonial service for adults aged 18 and over. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for any attempt to use the service by, for, or to target anyone under 18. This page sets out our standards, how we enforce them, and how to report a concern.

What is prohibited

The following are strictly prohibited on Maratha Manch and lead to immediate removal and, where the law requires, a report to the authorities:

• child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including drawn, edited, or AI-generated imagery, and links to it;
• grooming, sexualising, soliciting, sextorting, or trafficking a minor, or any attempt to contact, meet, or obtain images of a minor;
• creating or managing a profile for anyone under 18, including by a parent, relative, or guardian on a child's behalf;
• arranging, promoting, or facilitating a child marriage, which is prohibited under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006; and
• any other content or conduct that sexualises, endangers, or exploits children.

How we keep the platform adults-only

• Registration requires a date of birth. The website and the Android app only offer birth years that make the applicant at least 18, and our servers reject any registration whose date of birth shows the person is under 18.
• A profile's age must remain between 18 and 100. A change to a member's date of birth after registration does not take effect until our team has reviewed and approved it.
• Profiles are reviewed by our verification team, including a compulsory video introduction, before they are verified. Only verified profiles appear in search.
• Any member can report a profile that appears to belong to a minor, using the reporting options below.

How to report a concern

• In the Android app or on the website, open the member's profile, open the ⋮ (more options) menu, choose Report member, and select "Appears to be underage" or the reason that best fits. You can also report from the ⋮ menu in a chat. Reports are confidential; the member is not told who reported them.
• Email our child-safety contact at [email protected] or call +91 98509 51939. You do not need an account to report a concern.
• If a child is in immediate danger, call 112 (India's emergency number) or the CHILDLINE helpline on 1098. You can also report child sexual abuse material directly to the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in.

Please do not download, screenshot, forward, or re-share suspected abuse material, even to report it. Describe where you saw it, such as the member's name or profile and the date, and we will preserve what is needed.

What we do when we receive a report

• We review reports involving minors as a priority.
• We remove the content and suspend or permanently remove the accounts involved.
• We preserve relevant information as evidence. Reports and related records are kept even if the reported account is deleted.
• We report apparent child sexual abuse material and child exploitation to the appropriate authorities as required by law, including Indian law-enforcement agencies through the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) or the local police, and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable.
• We cooperate with lawful requests from law-enforcement agencies investigating harm to children.

Laws we comply with

We comply with applicable child-safety laws, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, as well as Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy.
